“Hi my name is Ronnisha Gates-Dukes, all my life I’ve been involved in athletics such as basketball, volleyball, track, swimming and diving. My sophomore year I gained a large amount of weight.
I tried to lose weight on my own, but nothing was working.
I’d lose some weight and then gain it back plus some extra I couldn’t keep off. That’s when I realized that I was going to need some outside help. I joined Success Personal Training in July 2010 and weighed in at 280lb. My trainer John talked to me about my food intake. I thought I was eating well. I was not. He told me I was eating too many carbs and not nearly enough protein. I had a short period of time for success. At first I struggled to change my eating habits, but soon changed dramatically. Once I changed my eating habits along with the good workouts, I began to have more energy and feel better. Now 8 months later I am down to 198 lbs. and a member of the Army National Guard. Coming to Success was the best choice I could have made. I feel and look great; and thank everyone at Success for there support, but thank John Bensen most of all for believing and never giving up on me. Thank you. seemed to work. My senior year I decide to join the Army National Guard, but was disqualified because of my weight. I started to diet or at least what I thought was dieting. But nothing was working. I’d lose some weight and then gain it back plus some extra I couldn’t keep off. That’s when I realized that I was going to need some outside help.”
“I am a World Cup level snowboarder on the USA Snowboard Racing Team, and about 2 years ago I went on a mission to find a personal trainer to work with over the summer who could, not only help push me to become stronger and healthier, but who could also train me in a way that would be specific to the needs my sport puts on my body.
I started working with Travis Rogers at Success Personal Training in the spring of 2009 and haven’t looked back since.
Before Travis, I had worked with other trainers with the rest of my teammates, who were specifically trained to work with ski and snowboard athletes. Travis, having barley even touched a snowboard when we first met, has by far been the best and most “successful” trainer I have ever had the pleasure of working with! His dedication to learning more about the dynamics of my sport (e.g. how the muscles and rest of the body are engaged when I race), and then from there, creating intense, fun and effective work outs for me was outstanding! And, by the variety of great people I have met working out there, who are equally as pleased with their time spent at Success, it is clear to me that Travis and the rest of the Success trainers put the same dedication into each and every client, whether they are looking for sports specific training like me, or are wanting to loose weight, gain muscle, rehabilitate an injury, or just enjoy working out and staying healthy. I have taken so much away from my time at Success, and I think you could too!”
“Hi, my name is Colleen. I am 37 years old. I work full time as a Physicians Assistant. I enjoy keeping active with year-round soccer, and with seasonal broomball and volleyball. Due to various reasons, leading up to joining Success, I had slowly been gaining weight. In June of 2008, I joined Success with a friend, at the recommendation of another friend.
My main goal when I first joined was to lose weight, as well as to make some lifestyle changes and to be fit for the sports that I enjoy. Both cardiovascular health and nutrition were probably my biggest downfalls. Through monitors weight training, and advice on additional cardiovascular workouts plus better nutrition, I have succeeded in all of my goals. I weight train twice per week with Sarah Louismet and have found her hard working and energetic style exactly what I needed.
After one year at Success, I have succeeded in losing 35 lbs and have dropped 5 sizes in clothing. I am playing soccer and having fun. I was even moved from a defender up to a midfielder because my team noticed how much speed and endurance I have. Everything I have learned from Sarah I have made into a new lifestyle, eating healthier, lifting weights and running on my own. I even recently completed a half marathon. I have not only changed the way I look, but I have definitely changed the way I feel about myself.”
My main goal was to decrease my body fat to a healthier level which meant I would have to lose around 8 lbs. Through the group process we set our personal goals, we discussed the methods and steps we were going to use to meet our weight loss goals and we shared with each other our roadblocks and downfalls. We logged our food intake and exercise regimen with the guidance of Travis and the support of the other trainers.
After 12 weeks, I exceeded my personal goal by 7 lbs.! I lost a total of 15 lbs., decreased my body fat to 23.8% (fit range) and dropped 2 sizes. My new goal is to maintain this loss, by continuing to monitor my food and exercise and to work on toning my body, through personalized training with Travis.
The most rewarding part of this whole process was accepting that good health, diet and exercise IS my new lifestyle. I feel great inside and out and I wanted to share my success story.”
I started Success Boot Camp with a little trepidation. I am an over-weight, out-of-shape, middle-aged mom—starting Boot Camp! But Travis made me comfortable as soon as I walked in the first time. As we did the workout he’d explain the exercises—how to do them and what muscles we should be feeling. He’d watch and correct you if you needed extra pointers or let you know if you were doing it right. He encouraged everyone to push themselves, but each of us at our own pace. Each time I’ve gone to one of Travis’s classes it has been interesting, varied and always addresses legs, abs/core and arms. With a program and trainer like this – I’m thinking this time I’ll actually get in shape!

While in Cancun I didn’t wear a shirt the whole week and that is the first time since I was 20 that I did that, I have Success Boot Camp to thank for that.

I am really glad I am trying out your boot camp! While my body screams the next day or two, it’s a good kind of sore!
Alicia and I both catch each other saying “I can’t wait until my next boot camp.”

I started Success boot camp without really knowing what to expect. In just 4 weeks I’ve experienced incredibly dynamic and challenging exercises which I have truly enjoyed. All of the teachers offer a variety of styles which keeps it interesting and fun. I never know what the next boot camp session is going to hold but I do know I will get a great workout and burn tons of calories. In those four weeks I’ve managed to lose 10 lbs already, far faster than I planned! I’ve also met some fellow boot-campers who are more experienced and very encouraging to me and my weight loss/getting fit journey. I can’t wait to keep going and see where I am in another 4 weeks and beyond!

Success Boot Camp has been just the perfect ‘different’ that I was looking for. I like the variety between trainers and variety within the same trainer. I never know what to expect, nor does my body and muscles making for a better workout. I find myself pushing harder in Boot Camp than I would working out on my own.
